At South Brockwells Farm we provide a distinctive farm-based learning opportunity for children, young people, families and community groups across Sussex which includes:
For children aged 7-14 years old. We hold a variety of sessions including holiday clubs, after school clubs, SEND specific workshops and term-time home ed workshops.
Preschool group for children 2-4 years old and their parents/carers.
Alternative provision for schools to support the education and wellbeing of children and young people.
The education programmes are managed by a fully qualified teacher and with a team of activity leaders, we ensure our visitors get the opportunity to work with and care for our farm animals, work on and learn about the land to understand where food comes from, and the role farming has on our lives.
VISION AND ETHOS
Our vision is to give every child the opportunity to thrive in our farm-based learning environment where children are safe to explore, be with animals and nature and develop new skills.
We want to engage and inspire our future generation and show them the role farming has in our everyday lives.
We want to equip and teach children, so they have the knowledge to form opinions and make informed decisions on things like food production, farming and the environment.
We believe that one size does not fit all and offering a child an opportunity to learn outside of the classroom will help develop, reset and broaden their prospects.
Working with schools and local authorities, our Education Centre provides a farm-based, therapeutic learning opportunity for children across East Sussex.
Farm-based programmes for children, families and local community groups providing an experience of looking after and caring for our farm animals and the land.
